Most of us passed that time when our parents, relatives or teachers asking us What do you want to be when you grow up, our answers to this question was never want be this or that rather it was straight forward single career being mentioned ranging from want to be a Pilot, Doctor, Soldier, Nurse and many others. However most of us did not make it till date which is contributed on how we did not focus our strategies or responses towards reaching what we wanted to become.
This was just one of steps in one’s way in reaching his/her goal i.e. pictures yourself in what you want to be hence with such opening remark; we get back to our lesson (Picture Your Way to Success) got from the book. In summary the author encourages us to visualize what we want to become or achieve and this does not deviate much from the lesson we got from our first book we read which encourages us to vision our good habit in attractive manner so as we may have appropriate responses to get the satisfying reward.
Most of our imagination may involve mental movies from childhood such that as seen from our first paragraph (choices of our carrier) some of children may have been criticised on their choices e.g. the father criticising her daughter in becoming an engineer instead wants her to be lawyer like him. This may have an impact whenever ones replays his/her mental movies from childhood since parent choices will have influential effects to the child .e.g. Parents may involve the child in activities related to their own choices of carrier rather than fostering that of their child.
The author however encourages one to Take responsibility of your own movies, meaning there is still a chance of one to select want to picture/visualize and design for one’s advantage based on his/her environment encountered in day to day activities rather than concentrating in old ones if they aren’t good. Also if you don’t create new pictures to occupy your mind, the old ones filling your mind will keep on playing and if not pleasing, will have negative impact and this takes us back on Changing the meaning of The Old Movies as we can use the criticism got from the old days as opportunity to prove ourselves right. Therefore no matter how bad your old movies were affected by the surrounding with our control and ability to change their meaning we can still achieve what we want to achieve.
The author enforces us to Relax and Involve our senses whenever picturing our way to success, since we won’t just be picturing ourselves to success but additionally will be picturing on what strategies we will have to use in order to succeed. On the way towards reaching our goals, others may opt for visual aids to remind them to focus on their goals/achievements hence if such a choice is made one needs to be very careful since if such visual aid is not properly selected may result to negative impact of not reaching our goal (It Works Both Ways).
Light …Camera …Action let us getting our designed picture to success (being it from Childhood movies or newly ones created with our control) into action based on the strategies that we have put in place through relaxed mind and involvement of our senses.
