An introduction
As a Christian, I was raised to believe that man was created in God’s image, our entire being is a reflection of God. I was raised to believe in the word of God as it has been passed on through the Bible and in the “Great Book", the first Chapter (Book of Genesis) illustrates how the earth and all that is in it came into existence. Reading this chapter I was intrigued to find out how many times the word command was used. Everything that God created He commanded.
What we can command
One might wonder where is he going with all this talk about the Bible, I didn’t open this review to read a sermon, well calm your horses, it’s not going to be a sermon, I just wanted to introduce you to a simple fact, we are reflections of God's image and just as God commanded the world into its existence, we can command our world to its existence.
As creatures with intellect, our actions spring from our thoughts, whatever we create comes from what we think to create. Let’s say you want to buy a car, the entire action of buying a car can’t happen unless you think of it, our thoughts trigger our actions and our actions trigger the world we create.
Our thoughts and our Attitude
Attitude can be defined as a settled way of thinking or feeling about something.
It is one thing to think about something, but how do you feel about it? The Roman poet Virgil once said, “They can because they think they can". You might have a thought about doing something but if you don’t feel as capable of doing it, the thought crumbles just like that.
If you want to create your world, change the way you think and how you think, and your thoughts will bring positive rewards.
How do I change the way I think?
Jeff Keller introduces us to the concept of repetition. He says if we build a daily motivational environment, it will eventually affect the way we think and our attitude towards our thoughts as well.
He encourages us to read books listen to audio books, listen to motivational speakers etc. He guarantees that this lifestyle will definitely change our thought pattern and attitude.
How our thoughts change our environment
One might look at his/her environment see all the negativity and wonder how will all this change by just how I think? The author tells us that just by changing our attitude, we automatically change the way we see our environment, suddenly all the negativity starts turning to something positive. And by suddenly I don’t mean in the blink of an eye, anything good takes the right time to cement itself. You have to be patient.
Conclusion
· If we change our attitude and the way we think, we can command our world to existence.
· The process of changing our attitude and thoughts towards creating our world takes the right time, we just need to be patient.
